Rhino 7, Visualarq 3.4.1, wall and facade not snap

When I use the arrow there is no snap in version 3.4.1 in rhino 7. There was a snap, is it possible to ensure that it will work in the new version as well?

Hi @microinspire
It works in the latest version 3.4.3.
You can update your version here:

If you want, you can send me the file and I’ll check if there are any bugs.
Best,

Hello Melissa,

thanks a lot for your reply.

Sorry, I haven’t used VA in a while. Now I need it again. But I had the company install the latest VA 3.5 for me. It still won’t snap. Please check my attached file. I’m not sure if it’s a software issue or a setting problem in my Rhino.

I’ve enabled all snap options. Interestingly, I can snap to the grid. But I can’t snap to any other objects.

Hi @microinspire I can snap on your file with VisualARQ 3.6 RC2 version (available here: VisualARQ 3 - Version 3.6 RC2 released).
See it in the gif below.

Snap

Are you doing anything differently?

Hi Francesc, that´s exactly what I want to achieve. It was possible even with VA2.0. But now it is not working with my pc in office. What could be the reason? I can´t update the VA so frequently, because I need to ask our IT to do it……

Hi, here is my video. My feeling is that either the graphics card on my company PC is incompatible with VA, or there’s an issue with a setting in either Rhino or VA. It’s not a matter of whether the VA version is old or new. Could you take a look and see if there are any other possibilities?

and here is my snap setting.

Hi @microinspire I’ve realized that you are using Rhino 7, while I tested it with Rhino 8. It also fails in Rhino 7 on my side, while in Rhino 8 works well. I’m not sure if we will be able to fix this for Rhino 7 (if it’s something related to a change in Rhino 8), but we will investigate it.

Hi Francesc, thanks for your reply!

But that doesn’t make sense. Back then, I could achieve this functionality using both Rhino 6 and VA2. Why can’t I accomplish this most basic task now with the new version? Is it an issue with VA3, or is it something else related to the settings?

Without this basic functionality, modeling would indeed be quite inconvenient.

Hi @microinspire We will fix this issue in the next update. I’ll keep you posted.

@microinspire I let you know this issue has been fixed in VisualARQ 3.7 RC2, available here: VisualARQ 3 - Version 3.7 RC2 released

perfect, thanks a lot!
