@nathanletwory , @Jussi_Aaltonen - Confirming that Rhino8 SR3 appears to be correctly providing a solution for this issue. Thank you!
@walther the cube on the right seems to render in Rhino and Octane correctly for me.
Well, yes that is the rhino material.
What is broken is the octane material or more precisely it’s connection to the rhino viewport display
What I don’t understand is why there are not 10 x 10 dots on the Octane material cube.
Perhaps it is because the UV’s are not right?
Ignore the UV mapping comment above please. You need the Octane material Box Projection Scale set to 0.5 (as for some reason Octane has an odd box projection mapping scale).
If I am not mistaken it used to work fine a few months ago…
I cannot see anything obvious that has changed in this area (certainly no plugin code has been changed). I checked a very old version of Octane, and it had the box projection with 5 repeats of the image on a 10m x 10m surface, so the scale within Octane has not changed.
Which version of Rhino are you on? I am using Version 8 SR11.
Paul

8 SR 12 (Service release candidate)
latest version
I just installed Rhino8 SR12 and it crashes on startup!
Rebooting, reinstalled, rebooted, and SR12 now running. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce your issue - it is running as per SR11 for me.
You are on OctaneRender for Rhino 2023.1.0.137 - that is very old, and doesn’t even support WSC box mapping!
You are correct Paul!

I must have somehow accidentally downloaded and installed the old version a few weeks ago.
I am really sorry for wasting your time.
However, since we are already on it, do you think you could fix that last part of the puzzle, maybe by setting the default value for the box transformation scale to 0.5 to have a perfectly correct viewport representation of octanes WCS mapping without user intervention?
Best regards and sorry again
Andreas
Hi Andreas
For situations where you load a new Image into an RGB Image (or similar) node, yes the default can potentially be set to 0.5 for the scale. I will investigate when doing the next release.
Paul
Thanks!
