Hi Michael -
Have you tried installing the BETA?
-wim
Hi Wim,
I’ve tried to install the latest version, called rhino_de-de_8.0.23251.10305.exe
You can see this in my attached log-file.
Thanks
Michael
Michael,
I don’t know for sure, but Brian mentioned that McNeel have had to update their certificates recently. As the Beta is out and there won’t be any more R8 WIPs it is possible that the certs for previous WIPS are no longer valid.
The beta can be downloaded from the link at the top of the page and on install replaces the WIP.

Hi Wim and Jeremy,
i’ve tried the beta from today, same error and log file.
Sorry
Michael
P.S.: Nethertheless, the whole installation says still WIP. I will try it next week again.
try a repair on your install-
go to add or remove programs>rhino>single left click< modify>repair
Hi Kyle,
I’ve found the bug: I have selected local license installation and typed in my Rhino 7 license key.
Cloud-Zoo license installation works, local license key not.
Thanks
Michael
are you up and running now? If you need more focused support, hit us up at tech@mcneel.com
Hi Kyle,
yes, the installation is working now. Nethertheless, the installer seams buggy, as explained above.
Thanks
Michael
check this link- Windows cloud zoo licensing- how to fix when it misbehaves
anytime licensing misbehaves, I start with this^^^
Thank you for the link.
The installer works fine with preselected Cloud Zoo licensing here, but not with preselected local licensing.
weird… do you want local licensing or did you want cloud?
if you want local licensing, can you go to tools>options>licenses>change license and get local licensing that way?
I want local licensing, and yes, I know that I can change this after the installation.
When I choose local installation in the installation process, I get the bug from this initial post.
ok, what I was asking, is changing the license from inside the program broken as well, or are you able to do that? trying to determine where the breakdown is in the system.
no
or are you able to do that?
yes
