@dale can you please look into this one, too?
I’m on it…

From what I can see from the memory dump file, you’ve run the SelColor
command and Rhino is waiting for you to Select objects with target colors
. Rhino is just waiting for input.
– Dale
In both these cases Rhino was waiting for the user to select something, but the user couldn’t. On this last one I jumped on the computer to try to select an object myself. I couldn’t select anything. It’s like there is some kind of disconnect between the viewport and the cursor. But not quite, because you can still rotate, pan and zoom. You just can’t select anything so the command never ends. The only way out is to end the process with the task manager.
Thanks,
Dan
Hi all,
I’m observing the same problem on Mac 10.14.6, Rhino 7, no mods, plugins etc, not even Grasshopper. I’m stuck with the Extend command, which won’t cancel / exit etc ; it is waiting for input, but no matter what I try to do, clicking on curves won’t select them. Tried changing viewport, display, locking/unlocking, Cmd+A for select all, and whatever I type in the “Select curve to extend:” text-box, pressing space/enter will just erase what’s in it.
I opened a new project to try my luck, and strange things happen: I put it in Shaded mode, then clicked on the circle icon to try and draw something, but notings happens appart from this in the history:
Mode ( Wireframe Shaded Rendered Ghosted XRay Technical Artistic Pen Arctic Raytraced )_Circle
On this new project, I can select lines (hurrray!), but can’t do anything; dragging the axis arrows won’t move objects, and I can’t give any commands…
I could force quit, but I don’t remember when the last autosave, so trying to avoid the brute force… Any help would be appreciated.
Hope this description can help understand what the problem is caused by and how to solve it!

this is still a problem. dragging object can get stuck. command line becomes unresponsive
Hi all,
This problem just happened for me as well using Rhino 7. Tried copying my work so I could use that as a backup, but that gives me the following response: ‘‘The CopyToClipboard command cannot copy geometry while another command is running’’. I can’t use any command, but I can use ctrl+a to select all.
FYI: Last command that I used was ‘Move’.
Can use some commands like Duplicate Layer, ViewCaptureToClipboard, ctrl+a, ctrl+c, ctrl+x, but these just result to nothing.
Hope any of this info helps. I did make a dump file in case anyone needs it.
*Edit: I did manage to make Rhino do the first ~20 out of probable 200 commands I pressed/typed and made it crash on its own. That might be a solve on this issue for now, but I cant test it because my rhino crashed.
Possible fix: Pressed ‘Windows + D’ to minimize everything, then hovered on the Rhino file in the taskbar and opened it via the preview. Then I pressed ‘Tab’, ‘Enter’, ‘Tab’, ‘Enter’ repeatedly (I thought there might be a hidden window open, so it might select another button with ‘Tab’ and close it with ‘Enter’. I think its best, if anyone tries it, to not spam this like I did, but just wait for Rhino to respond).
In my case: After that Rhino started loading and pushed a couple of commands in de command line. Then Rhino crashed and closed it self, probably because Rhino was trying to run all the commands I tried to make this work again.
Please let us know if this fixed your problem or not
Same thing happened to me today… I was importing an image and it just became unresponsive… I had to force quit but luckily I was able to save it once hit force quit…
Hi all, Any solution for this? I think there is some connection with the hardware. I had been using rhino with a AMD Radeon Card on the system, then I just switch to Nvidia and started to happen. So annoying.
Hi,
I had the same problem and a very random solution.
I was in BlockEdit and excidentially ran render. After that I could still type commands but nothing would happen but I could stll zoom, pan etc. But when i tried to close or cancel blockedit, rhino told me: you must cancel currently running command first. But there was no way to do that.
The problem was solved when I opend the last autosave file where the blockedit was also running and here I was able to close it. And after that I could randomly also close the Blockedit in my first file. I hope this helps!
Clara
If you get in a situation where you are stuck in BlockEdit you can also disable the BlockEdit plugin via File>Properties>Plugins, close Rhino, open your file, then re-enable the BlockEdit plugin, restart Rhino.
