Various R8 troubles, jagged edges/curves, selection issues, trimming

Hi,

I have upgraded to Rhino 8, but am still working in 7 because of some issues.

Firstly, I have the issues with the jagged edges. So far I have not seen a solution for it, is anyone aware of any?
Secondly, which is more annoying, I often cannot select surfaces in shaded. Only by clicking an edge or isocurve. This also affects trimming in the sense that it often does not trim to a surface, but I have to intersect and use generated curves to trim.

Hopefully some minor issues!

Thanks in advance,

15.6" UHD (3840x2160) IPS, ontspiegeld, 600 nits, geen touchscreen
NVIDIA RTX™ A3000, 6 GB, GDDR6

I was hoping to get some response here, it was recommended by the reseller.

Any tips on how to get feedback?

Hi MG,

We’ll need more information to be able to help, can you post your Rhino SystemInfo as well as an example file? Thanks

HI Japhy,

Sorry for the slow response, we are busy that we could not stop and work on the issues.

Attached is a part I have issues on. The part selecting itself is so intermittent that I cannot provide an example. If it occurs I will try and export to see if it does so on the exported file consistently.

But in this case the edges of the solid are clearly missing the shaded area. The edges are ok, the shading is terrible on my laptop.

I just did a fully new installation, but it has not changed anything.

It is not the same issue, but perhaps closely related as the shading is not selectable once in a while

Thanks for taking the time.

I changed your mesh settings to this:

The part now looks like this:

that’s great!

It works like a charm.

Thanks so much
