I never remember the “PrintDisplay” option. I always have to look it up. It’s doubly confusing because when you go into display modes, it says to use the “object’s width”. But in the properties panel of a curve, there’s no object width to change. There’s linetype scale, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. Then I get even more annoyed when I discover that all color assignments have to be re-done after enabling the option (because of course I missed that the separate “print color” is selected by default).
Also, setting the scale to 2 in the curve section of a display mode does seemingly nothing… again I’ve forgotten how to globally change curve width for a display mode because it’s unintuitive.
Is there an easy way to set the width of some curves that I missed? I don’t care about printing!
Linetypes have width values on them now and individual objects can have custom linetypes if you want that level of customization. If you want to adjust a width, adjust the linetype. If you don’t like this behavior, you can switch your display mode over to use fixed pixel widths which is what previous versions of Rhino did.
I change the print width of a curve, because there’s no other width quickly accessible:
And then nothing happens in the viewport.
So, I go into the display settings to see if I can change all curves to use the print width instead of the object’s width (whatever that is) and there’s seemingly no option for it:
Why is the UX so crap around this? Why is it so difficult to change the width of a curve?
At one point, I there was a glimmer of a hope of a quick setting, but I don’t think it materialized?
