Itâs also funny that people would believe you can have multiple trial versions ad infini⌠Why would anyone pay for it in that case?
McNeel is a small, privately owned company with a seldomly seen positive demeanour. Especially as far as software companies go, they are extremely kind, have supportive staff that will help you 24/7 and users that enjoy sharing, building of each others ideas and creating.
I find the above quote quite disheartening.

I admit that Rhino is the only softwsare I will buy when I get a job but till this happens, I have to use a pirated version till affording Edu-licese
I find the above quote quite disheartening.
also itâs not fair to pay the pay the same amount of money like any us, uk⌠etc students !
Economic and social injustice does not justify software piracy or any other form of taking something for free by illegitimate means. I agree that the world economic situation is not at all a fair and level playing field, but that is not the issue here.
The money earned by selling Rhino goes towards paying the people who develop it, most of whom live in areas where living costs are relatively high and who need to earn a certain amount of money to live and support their families. McNeel is a privately held company, so that money is not going to stockholders or other corporate interests. Believe it or not, in the industrialized areas Rhino is actually extremely inexpensive compared to other software and what it is capable of doing.
There are also plenty of free or very low-cost CAD solutions out there that may be alternatives to Rhino for areas where the cost of the software is too high. They might not be as cool as Rhino, but hey, you get what you pay for⌠There are some companies that offer educational licenses for free while you are in school but you donât actually own it. Rhinoâs model is different, once you buy a license, it actually belongs to you.
Schools can also set up lab licenses for check-out/check-in by students at a very reasonable cost to the school and zero costs to the student.
The possibilities are out there.
Admitting and encouraging to braking EULA can have legal consuequences. This will cost much more than buying a licenseâŚ
Of course you lied to try to get extra Rhino demos, so odds are youâre lying about being in a 3rd world country. If youâre going to pirate the software at least have the sense to not ask for help from the official 1st-party support platform, and try to get sanctimonious when youâre called out. You got a computer that can run Rhino somehow without stealing it I assume. Youâre IN the business of creating intellectual property, trying to respect the concept is probably not a terrible idea. There are cheaper legit options out there.
Yes, exactlyâŚ

all of you are judging without living our circumstances and I swear If you live here, you wonât even think of buying a software ,
Any way I truly respect Mcneal and when I can buy an Educational license,I wonât hesitate for a moment
Itâs been the cracked version of Photoshop CS2 that kicked out corel draw and made it N°1 until now⌠All students used the cracked version and now they got themselves work, they ask their companies to buy photoshop as they are experienced using it. Iâm pretty sure the fact that McNeel left this backdoor open for a pretty long time now helped their success as well.
Somehow I donât understand people raging, that are not even on McNeels salary list. I can understand all McNeels people though. Me I had bought the V4 student version for 220.- chf I believe back in 2007. Iâm old
As someone from the hometown of Corel, Corel was never, ever a competitor to Adobe.
No, the particular backdoor(s) that was closed here was only created in recent history.
maybe Iâm wrong here, itâs true. Itâs just what I remember from younger years back in school. but no real background or deeper knowledge indeed.
in this case there must be another backdoor similar to the one recently closed. IDK how, as I have a licence and donât care about cracking whatsoever, but a friend of mine uses it for nearly 3 years now using trials and confirmed to me yesterday he was still able to ârenewâ his licence, although heâs not very much into informatics.
Iâm a lot older. I bought my educational version (I was a teacher) of Rhino V1 in 1998 just after it came out for $395 - only $100 less than the original price of $495 for a commercial version. Todayâs educational versions are a lot better bargain at 20% of the price for a full commercial version.
and what institutions might those be?
Itâs a fairly common name
in the pirate world
Hi, sorry Iâve got a similar problem. I installed Rhino 7 yesterday and when I try to open it said that the license is expired.
I didnât receive any email confirmation.
Could you help me?
Thanks
Gina
@Gina1
Your 1-time 90[day eval license expired yesterday.
Youâll need to buy a license now to Save your work.
If youâre a student, take advantage of the special pricing for students and faculty.
I just installed it yesterday for the first time, how is possible?.
I never used it, Iâm doing a course to do it.
