Rhiino 8 copy/paste doesn’t work.
Copy command triggers a pinwheel, takes 10-30 seconds. CopyToClipboard shows up in my history.
Cmd+V or Paste command yield “Unable to paste, no Rhino objects or text on clipboard.”
However, objects copied from a file in Rhino 7 can be pasted in my Rhino 8 file, but anything copied within Rhino 8 doesn’t work. I’d guess the issue is with copying to clipboard in general. This goes for copying objects in model space (within 1 file or between files), or Layout Space (between layout pages in one file or between files).
I’ve posted about this problem before but since it’s a global issue and not limited to Layouts, I thought I’d repost.

i have noticed Rhino beeing absurdly slow in some situations, maybe depending on how much geometry is in the file. i noticed sometimes even selecting objects can take quite some time.
but if you have some file which exhibits this issue that would be interesting for the developers you have a look, since you did not post any in the other topic maybe you can this time.
I am having this issue as well- any solutions? This is a crucial command and I am disappointed that across several threads there has been no posted solutions (that I have found).

Please test again without the Datasmith exporter plugin.
Still getting “Unable to paste, no Rhino objects or text on the clipboard”, after doing CopyToClipboard.

For the above item (RH-85110) the issue is that copy is failing. Rhino is trying to place a very large chunk of data in the Mac clipboard and the operating system is not accepting this. We will need to write a new technique for copying to the clipboard in order to handle this much data.

Hi @Katherine_S ,
Unless you are copying objects between documents, its best (and faster) to use the Copy command instead of CopyToClipboard and Paste.
You can also copy objects using the Gumball .
