Wish: Open file with out RaytracedDisplay active

Hi @nathanletwory I know Rhino saves all views with current display modes, but I would like it if RaytracedDisplays were converted to RenderedDisplays upon opening a file so it opens large files faster IF I wasn’t paying attention to this when I saved and closed the file.

Does that sound like a smart move, or do you (or any other users out there) have a different opinion?
Thanks.

Makes sense to me and hope this becomes SOP.

bumping this

I would like to suggest a preference string that says which mode to use instead, and to make this effective for either raytraced, or any other third-party realtime display mode

it is possible to switch modes before saving, but that is not a good solution, since I do not want to cycle display modes every time I want to save – and it would be better to let files be saved as usual, so that the behavior depends on the preference of the person opening them

for some fun on a mac, open a model, set 4 viewports to use raytraced, save the model, change some stuff, save it again, and then use file > revert to > browse all versions
