hello, recently my object snaps have changed, must have changed a setting inadvertently somehwere but can’t figure it out.
The problem is that i can no longer snap to any elements directly, the snap registeres but projects it down or up to the Cplane, like so:
here i am trying to start a polyloine from the endpoint of this surface, the cursor snaps to the end point alright but the polyline will be drawn on the Cplane.
What did i do to mess this up ? 
oh, just after posting this i figured it out … in the Modeling Aid settings in the preferences ‘Project Object Snaps to Cplane’ … must have triggered this with a keyboard shortcut at some point since i never changed it.

Project is on in the Osnaps (projects to the Cplane), it is a setting you’ll want to turn on and off in various situations.
YOU SAVED MY LIFE. Seriously I’ve been trying to figure out why the frack my snap WOULD NOT snap to my objects for MONTHS. THANK YOU!!!
