Vray Triplanar Mapping Not Importing Correctly

Hello,

So I’ve been learning how to use Vray (I used Lumion before, but this seems to be more versatile), and usually I would import materials from Vray Cosmos with triplanar mapping turned on and it was ready to go. Now for some reason, when I import with triplanar mapping on, not only is it out of scale on my geometry, but also on the Asset Editor Preview for that material. Screenshots of the Asset Editor Preview are attached.

The only way I’ve been able to work around this is by importing materials from Vray Cosmos with Triplanar Mapping Off, but this means that I need to map each and every geometry I have in my model. Having triplanar mapping working correctly would make my workflow much more efficient…

Why is it importing out of scale from the beginning? How do I fix this?

General tri planar mapping should work if your render the scene and scene units and tri planar size match. Is this working?

What do you mean by scene units and try planar size matching?

My Rhino Units are in meters. It’s my understanding that Vray automatically inherits the units from Rhino.

Perhaps you have already used it correctly.

For example if the triplanar size is 10 than depends on the Rhino scene units which size you get. If you use scene units mm than it are 10 mm and if you use m than it are 10 m. So, if you import a material you must check the triplanar size that it match your need at your scene. If you set the right size, you should get the look of the rendering regardless of what the material preview shows. Is the rendering right looking?

@Micha Yes, that’s what I was doing wrong. Like I said I’ve just been learning this software…
Thanks for the help.
