Very slow with use of picture tool

Hi all, I use the picture tool function a lot to place images in an architectural model. As I add pictures, Rhino 7 becomes incredibly slow and occasionally fully locks up. I’m using the most recent version of Rhino and my OS is up to date as well. Any suggestions on how to improve performance?
