Unrolling a cone in equal sections

I have a cone in need to unroll to equal sections that I can export out to my CNC machine. Any ideas? I managed to unroll but not into equal sections.

Hi Alan - hard to say without a file but a guess: split the cone at isocurves, Join, then UnrollSrf with Explode=Yes.

(in this case they are all the same…)

I would upload the file but Im not seeing a way to upload the cone?

Hi Alan - it looks unrolled if that is different than what you need, please describe what you are after or post a picture… I’m gessing maybe you want the thing unrolled as a solid?

Sorry, I do not know what this means. Equal in what way? equal area? split up verttically? around? please post an image of what you are shooting for.

trying to cut equal parts to make the cone on the end of a pipe.

Like your first example. Only want six sections of equal width to form the cone

Split equally around the cone when it is layed out flat. Im trying to cut equal pieces from a CNC machine.

Did you see my replys?

Hi Alan - if you Divide the edge curves of the unrolled pieces into 6 equal parts, that will tell you where to split them up and get just the 1/6th
