I have a material - travertine stone. The jpeg is an image of real world units of 24" x 24". I have box shaped objects in rhino that are 24" x 24".
Issue. I have one travertine jpeg material. How do I apply my one travertine material to many objects so it does not appear to be the same object repeated over and over?
I’ve tried enlarging the jpeg or scaling up the size of the material and using offset, rotation, etc.. That distorts the scale of the pattern. I’ve tried using Vray’s triplanar and stochastic tiling. Those also appear to rely on using a texture larger than my 24" x 24" box objects - to implement offset and rotation.
How would you go about this?
Use a gaussian filter, copy and pastre or otherwise enlarge the jpeg in photoshop, yet retain the detail at real world scale? The use stochastic tiling in Vray?
Make multiple copies of the jpeg in photoshop and use filters to make each unique? Create a unique Vray material for each jpeg?
Thanks for considering…
