I bought a new laptop LG Gram. The old one is also LG Gram from 2022 with win10 Pro, with a simple integrated Intel Iris(R) Xe graphics. Even huge models with over 350mb and very small ones can be opened and freely rotated without any stuttering, freezing and even after rendering. On the new laptop with Win11 Pro and Intel Arc™ graphics card, have following problems. The first problem, the rendering/shading colors are very different to the Rhinoceros running on Win 10, but the most strangest thing is that it is not possible to rotate and work with models, even with small models of 10-50mb, they stuttering. Although the graphics card and processor are better. Thied all Options. Cannot fix that.
Using Version 5 SR14 64-bit
Can you post your SystemInfo here?
It isn’t clear if you have a Meteor Lake (Xe), Lunar Lake (Xe2), or a tiny Arc dGPU (A series) from your description.
It’s likely that the very new Intel drivers won’t consider older Rhino 5 software.
I had some good success with an A770 dGPU on my desktop, so any mobile Arc I think should be able to run Rhino with its vastly superior capabilities comapred to Xe.
That said, it seems you have bought a new thin & light for CAD?
HI David
I hope you have right, otherwise it would be highly disappointed, to buy a better laptop with worse performance.

@rl.muk Run the Rhino command SystemInfo and post the results.
Yes, you certainly should post the results from the Rhino ‘SystemInfo’ command.
However, what I can see is that you are using 31.0.101.5382 drivers which date back to March of this year.
Normally I wouldn’t bother too much, but you should:
- Check if LG have the latest driver for your specific notebook.
- Consider (own risk) using the latest WHQL drivers direct from Intel. 32.0.101.6078/32.0.101.5736.
Note that these are NOT the latest Intel Arc drivers, but are the most recently certified drivers from what I see.
I cannot find the command SystemInfo, it will ignored. You mean in Rhinoceros ? but how? I can only get Systeminfo from Windows
Rhino 5 does not have the _SystemInfo
command, that was born in Rhino 6.
Alright. Given this command is not existing for Rhino 5, my point about the drivers may still stand.
Probably best to check those first, and go from there. Intel have a large backlog of legacy problems they needed to sort for Arc. By chance, it may have been captured.
Meteor Lake (you 155H) is not really meant for CAD applications. But anyway, have you checked that Rhino is set to performance profile on Windows?
Do you have any plugins on Rhino 5? Try to disable all of these first and see if it helps.
Given you don’t have SystemInfo, please post a picture of:
Options > View > OpenGL
Hi rl -
The system requirements for Rhino 5 can be found here: Rhino - System Requirements for Rhino 5
I’m afraid that running Rhino 5 on Windows 11 is not supported.
