Hi Asuni,
I would like to have the tag display in the 2D plan view, rather than only in the model view. Is this possible?
Thanks
Chris
Hi @chris3,
VisualARQ tags should be visible in both, 3D model and 2D plan views. I’ve tested it now in a new document, and it works just fine, so maybe there is a bug or something strange in your model. Can you send it to visualarq@asuni.com so we can take a look?
Thanks,
Enric
Thanks for checking the model Enric,
Just to confirm the VA work methodology - the Plan View and Section View commands are mainly used for exporting 2d linework out of Rhino, rather than to create documentation. The aim is to document (including dimensioning) from the 3d model. Is this correct?
Also, is their any plans to create dynamic VA dimensioning that can update with the model? This would be extremely useful.
Kind regards,
Chris
Hi @chris3,
You can also use plan-view and section to create documentation. The downside of these objects is that they make the model much bigger because the lines are stored inside the 3DM in a block definition. Also, they can make the display slower too. In my opinion, real-time plan and section viewports are better to work with, because they are real-time, they do not increase file size or memory (RAM) consumption, and texts and solid hatches are correctly drawn.
Yes, this is a planned feature, for a future VisualARQ update.
Regards,
Enric
