Strange display issues in Layouts/Details since R8 SR11

Hi all,
ever since Rhino 8 updated to SR11, I started having these display issues when exiting Details while zoomed in where everything outside gets cut away and only restores if I select the detail or enter and exit the detail while zoomed out. If I don’t have Print Preview on, only dimensions disappear, if I do have it on, even curves get cut.

This video hopefully demonstrates it more clearly:

Example file used for the recording:
test-layout.3dm (160.7 KB)

Now, if I start Rhino in safe mode, the bug disappears. But I can’t figure out what’s causing it. The only 3rd party plugin I use is Vray and even when I tried to turn it on in safe mode, the bug didn’t manifest itself.

I then tried in standard mode disabling GPU Tesselation, Antialiasing as well as lowering the OpenGL level but this had no effect on the bug. Nor did updating GPU drivers.

Anyone experiencing something similar? Any idea what might be causing it? Thanks

Ah, thanks, couldn’t find it as the main topic is about a different bug.

Well at least it’s not just me. But it seems this particular bug isn’t in the tracking system yet?

Can someone from McNeel acknowledge that this has been replicated and is scheduled for a fix? Because it’s honestly getting more and more annoying as the time goes. So if it’s not something wrong with my system, I’d appreciate it getting fixed as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

last week i almost went nuts when i had to do something. nothing worked as expected i stumbled upon bugs everywhere. this was actually the least of my worries last week but it is definitely a major bug.

This does not have anything specific to do with your system. Since this sounds like something new in 8.11 it is being treated with the highest priority.

for me it seems that when you zoom in while doing something display updates only in that part of view amd rest is clipped thus not displayed. maybe you did some optimizations for display speed in sr11 and this is the indesired sideeffect.

This very well could be the case as I did add several display optimizations in recent service releases. I’m running a tool we use internally to track down exactly what code change caused this bug and will try to have this issue fixed right away.

Edit: this should be fixed in the next 8.11 release candidate which we will probably be shipping tomorrow.

RH-83587 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 11

Yup, tried it in some heavy scenes and no issues anymore, so it seems fixed, thanks.
