Slow Show Selected Response

I’ve started having very slow response to the Show Selected command, since reorganising my toolbars a little. It takes 4-5 seconds for the hidden objects to be shown, followed by a similar delay after selecting objects to show. Even if I escape from the command without selecting anything, it still takes a long time to get me back to the ‘normal’ view.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know what might be causing it? I recently installed VSR Shape on this machine - might that have something to do with it? Other than that and the mild reorganisation of my pop-up toolbar, I can’t think of any changes.

Edit: I’ve just remembered that I installed the most recent R5 Service Release Candidate 3 or 4 days ago to get Jordy’s SelName Panel plugin to work correctly. It’s not the plugin as I’ve tried disabling that with no effect. I don’t get the problem with all files - it seems to happen in files with lots of decals applied. I’ve just tried a c.50Mb file (all 2D with lots of decals) and the delay ran to over 20 seconds, both to Show Selected and then cancel the command. A file with many 3D objects but only one or two textures responds to the command normally.

I’ve just been re-enabling recently installed plugins. The problem is being caused by VSR Shape.

Could this be a practical manifestation of the performance hit many are seeing in Holomark when VSR is enabled?

I’m still getting this in RH6, with no VSR of course…

Several minutes to toggle.

Does that happen with any file or just specific files? If the latter, can you send a small file that exhibits this behavior?
Can you also post the result of Rhino’s SystemInfo command?

Hi Wim,

It doesn’t happen with every file, and this particular file is just under 500mb.

Other show/hide commands work instantly, but show selected hangs for minutes.

No BadObjects, or Blocks in the file.
