Slow select and unselect of any object

Hi, I am asking on the behalf of a client. He called me this morning saying Rhino became slow since yesterday. He has now to wait 1/2 a second when selecting or unselecting an object on any of the models which where running fine before. What could cause this? What would solve it?

Hi Jean-Christophe -

I would think that this implies that something has changed on the system - any ideas of what that might have been?

Is this file-specific or does it also happen with a new file from a factory-default template?

Has he tried disabling V-Ray?

Hi Wim, just spoke to the client. The modele he was working on was created 3 days ago and selecting was slow from the beginning. As we where one the phone, he’d created a new document and copied everything from the slow one (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V). In the new document speed was back to normal. There wasn’t any recent change on the PC, nor Windows updates. I’ll ask him to try with V-Ray disabled.
Would there be some working files or directories and/or Temp Dir I should empty or clean?

Hi Jean-Christophe -
This sounds very file-specific and we’d need to have the file to be able to say more about it. If V-Ray is in any way involved in this, you’d have to check with someone who’s also running that, so it’d be nice to be able to remove that variable from the equation.

Hi Win, sorry I won’t be able to pass on the file as it is against my client policy. I’ve asked the client to try with V-Ray disabled and I don’t have his feedback yet. May be we should leave it there for now. Thanks you very much for your help.
