I’d like to ask if there is any possibilities to avoid triangulation of model while importing on sketchup from rhinoceros. And do you use dwg/obj./skp?
It looks like the ‘trimmed planes’ option when importing a skp file to Rhino will give you what you want or at least allow you to make a custom mesh with fewer tris.
If you bring a mesh into Rhino that you want to remove triangles from, you can also use ReduceMesh>Planar only option, QuadrangulateMesh or Merge2MeshFaces.
