Shortcut keys not working properly?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a strange issue with Rhino regarding shortcut keys. Sometimes, for a shortcut to work, I need to press the key twice in quick succession. This affects various shortcuts, including the Escape (ESC) key.

In addition, I’ve noticed that Rhino seems to get confused with custom shortcuts I’ve set. For example, I reassigned the F1 key to open the Command History instead of the default Help page. But when this issue occurs, F1 reverts back to opening the Help page, as if my custom shortcut is forgotten. It’s like Rhino is temporarily ignoring my custom settings.

Restarting Rhino fixes the issue temporarily, but it keeps coming back after a while, which is quite frustrating.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Any idea what might be causing it or how to prevent it?

Thanks.

hi @Gustavo_Soares_Silva pls run _Systeminfo in Rhino and post back the results

I’m supposed to do this only when the bug is happening, right?

If you have any plug-ins installed that might influence the behavior, you’d have to run the plug-in before running SystemInfo. Plug-ins that are not initialized after a restart of Rhino won’t show up in the list. So, I guess, yes…

System Info with bug happening above

hi @Gustavo_Soares_Silva this is the first time I have seen this problem being mentioned. I wonder if there is some other 3rd party software you are running that is monitoring keypresses?

Hello. Only sotwares that I use that maybe can do that are: PowerToys and Logitech’s Logi Options+ (i don’t use them to maps keys, but worth mention)

But I believe it’s a rhino problem, because closing it and opening again fix the problem (temporarily).

If there’s any other info I can provide to help investigate I am willing to help.

@Gustavo_Soares_Silva I really have no idea what could cause this. A shot in the dark: repair Rhino, and see if that resolves it. It’s almost as if two different profiles are fighting for first place.
