Hi, I was excited to use the “test metal” command in the new rhino WIP. I found an odd bug that makes it unusable for me. I cannot select where my mouse is resting. Its offset to the left and up. I made a screen recording. It works in openGL but not after running “testmetal”.
Hi Jack -
Please run the Rhino SystemInfo
command and copy-paste the result here.

Thanks, Jack -
Could you please update to the current version of macOS and check if that makes this issue go away?
-wim
Hi Wim, sorry. I’m stuck on OSX 12.2 until dropbox fixes a problem in its software.
It’s an annoying bug because with Rhino 8 WIP and metal, i noticed a seriously great performance increase, so I really would prefer to use it.
Hi Jack -
The SystemInfo shows that you have an external display connected. Are you running Rhino on that external display? If so, does it make a difference if you run that on the laptop’s display? What happens when you disconnect that external display?
-wim
You nailed it. It works perfectly on the macbook display when the monitor is disconnected, but is offset on the thunderbolt display. Even when the window is moved between displays it works on the macbook and not the other. Very odd.
Thanks for confirming that, Jack.
We have this issue on our list as RH-70252 Display Metal: Mouse input is offset from cursor position
