hi … just trying out WIP8 ((Mac V8 WIP (8.0.23150.18306, 2023-05-30)) on mac and can’t really do anything since i am unable to select anything properly. The issue seems to be that the cursor and selection points are not at the same place. so when i click somwhere to select an object rhino ‘thinks’ the cursor is a couple hundred pixels to the left and up … it’s pretty extreme making even the most basic things impossible. When i turn off TestMetal the cursor selection works normally.
Wondering wether this is because i’m on a hackintosh with a Radeon RX6600 and wether this works normally on a ‘real’ mac.
An issue that sounds the same was just fixed - RH-74193 Render mesh offset from wireframe with Metal
If all goes well, there will be a new public WIP within the next 12 hours or so. When it’s available, could you see if that fixes things on your system?

@wim ok so this is weird. yesterday i had switched to OpenGL while working and then got a crash (bug report sent - crashed when moving objects to new layer). i didn’t open WIP again until this morning (i didn’t restart my computer and only had it sleep overnight) and was working for a couple of hours until i noticed that i was in Metal display mode again … and selections worked fine without the offset problem.
i’ll let you know if it happens again but so far all seems fine so probably just a random thing yesterday.
