I see a bunch of topics for the trim command not seeming to work properly in the current (R9) WIP but I’m having problems in R8 now. Working on a family crest ring, client sends a very clean B/W of the image which I use to create heightfield. I’ve done a bunch of these. Once heightfield is created I trim horizontally across bottom or top of the depth that I’ve chosen and then I can typically cap planer holes to get solids. Worked seamlessly for years. Now trim wants to delete parts of the srf on both sides of my trim plane and I’ve also gotten memory allocation errors with Rhino closing spontaneously. Am I missing something or is that command “under repair” at the moment? Happy to upload a file if that’s helpful. Thanks in advance for any comments!!
Is this only happening with one file? Could be the model itself. I haven’t noticed any problem with Trim in the latest versions. If you can post the model here with instructions, great. Otherwise you can upload it directly to McNeel if it is large or contains sensitive information. .
i had an issue just today in v8 with a simple curve on a simple surface not able to trim, i mean a rectangular surface with a simple two point line and zero chance i wondered if its me or rhino and reading this now the plot thickens
Sorry took me a while to get a response to you. Not just one file. And now another person seems to be having issues per this thread. It’s been a bit so I’m not sure which file I was working on at the time I posted this. Will upload something when/if it comes up again.
