Save view to include hidden objects as well as layers turned ON?

Hi,
V5.
Is it possible to save a view so that it stores which objects etc are hidden as well as which layers are turned ON and OFF ?
LayerStateManager stores layers ON and OFF.
I create a layerStateManager save, I then unhide objects, restore to that LSM but they dont hide .
Restoring a view is as much about what is hidden as it is what was turned on.

What method saves and restores the view ?

Cheers
Steve

In a word, no. Views are independent of layer and object states. In V8, snapshots might be a solution, I don’t know, don’t use them myself.

Hi,
Thats a real pain.
Whats best way of saving such, then opening a variation on the items on display, saving that and toggling between the two to see whats best to proceed with ?

I have a complex rats nest developing of sections through meshes, solids and all sorts, I select the parts I need to study less the clutter, then need to bring open an option and work on that, then compare, so I dont want to be trying to pick out the key items again .

All I can think of is to group them, then one click selects them all.

I think that’s what snapshots is for. But it’s not in V5.
