Rhino 7 is using Almost 560 GB of my hard drive space( C drive, 1 TB)
While working in Rhino, my hard drive capacity gets full in a few minutes after running the Enscape start command. I tried to reset the PC, remove everything, and reinstall all apps on a different drive
(D drive, 2 T) but it kept happening. I tried something else with the system, like cleaning the “Tem” Folder, which is the largest folder from user> me>Local>appdata>temp. It worked and reduced the usage from 930 to 200 GB. Then I start Rhino again, and it gets full within 2 minutes when starting the escape.
I don’t know how to deal with this
Please help if you have any solution!
What are you rendering?
Are you sure you downloaded your software from reliable sources?
I have punished Rhino quite heavily. I’m rendering a 8,192 x 8,192 pixel scene right now. I have rendered a diner full of chrome and glass, as well as lighthouse with a catadioptric Fresnel lens. My projects are a living monument to @jesterking 's patience, but I have not seen the behavior you describe.
You might look at Enscape.
Also, Microsoft broke Disk-Cleanup in such a way as it doesn’t delete temp files which are new. So, I keep a handy link from the desktop to the temp folder, also making sure there is no aps using that data, and you have no installers waiting.
I was rendering a site model with may meshes and masses but also more detailed buildings like doors and windows blocks, also some enscape assets. I tried to fix some stuff, like uninstalling enscape and reinstalling in another drive it still did the same. Then I tried Rhino 6. Rhino 6 runs very smoothly with the same file and doesn’t cause any issues so only Rhino 7 with Escape is eating up my drive storage
I was able to resolve this by going into the materials panel in Rhino, selecting all the materials, and changing them to type “Enscape”. Let me know if that works for you or not; I haven’t tested it extensively but it did work for me on one model.
Is there another way to fix the problem without changing material type to “Enscape” materials?. I’m having the same issue but I wanted to use Rhino materials that I’ve assigned already.
