Hi Alyisha - the command line shows that Rhino is creating meshes - in certain cases, not good ion general, that can take a long time. If Esc does not stop the meshing proces, I would open Rhino in safe mode then open the file from there - you will not get shading. Then if it opens in Safe Mode you can start to diasgnose what object(s) are causing meshing problems.
Rhino in Safe mode from the Windows Start menu:
-Pascal
thank you Pascal it worked!

Hi Alyshia - did you figure out what object(s) are causing trouble meshing?
-Pascal
Starting in Safe Mode IS NOT THE SOLUTION.
Safe mode is a troubleshooting tool only.
Safe mode does not start OpenGL graphics or load plug-ins.
Either one of those could be the underlying problem.
While in Safe mode, please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and return the results in a reply.
This will inform the next steps in identifying the problem and ultimately fixing it.
if you need to open your model without it generating lots of meshes you can always import it into a new, empty document where the viewports are all still wireframe.
