Rhino Crashing Very Frequently

I have rhino 6 for windows on my MacBook (I use bootcamp) and it never experienced issues until recently. It was running a little slow the other day and I closed it and reopened it and it said there was an update available, so I installed it hoping it would make it speed up a bit. Now I can only do about 3 actions before it stops working and I have to close out of it or it just closes itself. I open my file, change the cplane to an image, make a curve, save, delete the image, save, and try to do this as many times as I can (the project requires me to trace curves on images in a row and then delete the image and use the next to trace). My project is due tomorrow and I really need to start working faster than what it is allowing me to do right now.

Hello - please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and post the results here.

-Pascal

update: It now stops working after I open the file, click on an image, and try to delete it. It won’t delete the image or let me do anything.

Hello - please open the Notifications panel (Panels menu) and double-click the notification about updating the video drivers - update those and then please run SystemInfo again and post the new results.

Does anything work better?

-Pascal

When I double click the notification about updating the video drivers it brings me to intel’s website and gives a lot of options for graphic drivers to download. How do I know which one to download?

is it this one?

Hello - it looks to me like 15.40 is likely the one:

-Pascal

It doesn’t seem to be any better after that. Here is the new system info –

Hello - in case you have not, please also reboot the machine.

I restarted it twice and it’s still working worse than before –

Hello - are the problems with any file or one in particular?

-Pascal

the problems seem to be with this file in particular. I asked my professor about it. He seems to think the graphics driver just isn’t powerful enough for the project I have so there isn’t much I can do about it on my laptop. Thanks for all the help!

Hello - can you SaveSmall, zip and upload the file to

www.rhino3d.com/upload
?
We can take a look.

-Pascal

yes I uploaded it. I ended up working on the file on a PC desktop and now its working fine. I was just having issues on my bootcamp on my Mac earlier on in the project when there was about 50 images in the file and the driver couldn’t keep up.

Hello - as your file opens, the view is in Raytraced mode - that will churn your machine a lot, if used as a working mode - see if sticking with the Rendered, or Shaded modee speeds things up.
