Rhino 6 crashing on windows 10

Hey there,
I’m in need of some help with a problem I’m occurring on my PC. I just updated Rhino 6 and run of the student version. Rhino is crashing every time I open it, if not straight away after 1-2 minutes of doing simple changes to the model such as rotated or move command.

I have the SystemInfo here, tried updated the Intel as recommended in the Notifications panel and uninstalled and reinstalled Rhino but to no success.

System Info is here

Would appreciate your help! thanks in advance,
Matt

I’d try two things…

First look into making the Nvidia RTX GPU your primary display device. This is a good card for 3D work. The other GPU in your computer is an Intel HD 630 which is set as the primary display device and is handling OpenGL which is how Rhino’s display works. I bet this is the issue. Sometimes the primary display device in hybrid GPU computers is controlled by the performance or power settings. So first look at switching Windows to use performance power settings. You could also disable the Intel HD GPU in the Windows device manager as a brute force attempt at not using it.

I’d also update the RTX driver from Nvidia’s driver download page… in general keep your Nvidia drivers updated as you update Windows.

Any luck?

@barmb003 if you get after a crash the crash reporting dialog please consider submitting the report. It would be good to at least put a link to this discussion in the comments section, an e-mail address would be good too, so we can look in our crash database for your reports. Thanks.
