Rhino Crashes upon start up

Hi I am using the student version of Rhino V6 for windows. Upon opening it crashes every time within a couple of minutes. This happens regardless of whether i’m modelling or not. It means I literally can’t use the software. It opens fine in safe mode. There are no plug ins on the “plug-ins that do not ship with Rhino”
Im using a HP Z Book G3, which should be able to handle the software easily

Thanks

Before the crash happens please run the Rhino command _SystemInfo and paste the resulting text here. Thanks.

Hi, I believe the issue may have been due to rhino not running on the Nvidia Quadro M1000M, I have changed the settings in the Nvidia control panel and it is yet to crash.
Here is the current _Syteminfo
Thanks

Good to hear it is working now.

Should you run into display problems or crashing again you may want to update the GPU drivers for both the NVidia and the Intel GPUs, both drivers are starting to show their age (2017 is in driver world pretty ancient).

I thought I had fixed it yesterday but today the problem has returned and Rhino keeps crashing again within minutes of opening. Even if I don’t enter a single command. I literally cant use the software again

thanks

Hello - both drivers are a couple of years old - I’d start with updating these - both the Intel and the nVidia ones… The Notifications panel (Panels menu) should have a notification about the drivers - double click that and follow through to locate the latest drivers. Use the Clean Install option when installing the drivers.

Also, if that sorts it out, (or not), please report back here and let us know…

I am having similar issues, here is my systems info, it worked fine until windows 10 updated.

Hi - your driver for the Intel GPU is also very old. Please open the Rhino Notifications panel and follow the links to the Intel site where you can find updated drivers.

Please let us know if new drivers helped and post a new SystemInfo report.
Thanks!

Hi, There was only a notification regarding the NVidia driver. I updated this and have also updated the Intel GPU driver - however it is telling me there is an even more recent driver available but when downloaded, says the operating system is not supported

I think it has stopped rhino crashing, here is the system info

Thanks for the updated information!

I am attempting to run Rhino since upgrading my Rhinogold software from basic to pro. Since the update, Rhino keeps crashing at startup. Also, I have not figured out how to run _SystemInfo to see computer specs. I have auto updated drivers for intel and nvidia.

Please, advise.

Which version of Rhino are you running?
