Rhino crashes after restoring layout organization

After installing the update, I lost my VisualARQ panel organization in my window layout. To restore it, I tried using my window layout preset, but that caused Rhino to crash. Pleas Help ?

Hi @user2745 during the crash, does the Rhino crash dialog appear? In that case, check the desktop, and rename a .dmp file you will find there, BEFORE closing the Rhino crash message. Please send that file to visualarq@asuni.com so we can figure out the reason of this crash.

Sorry, there is no crash dialog and no .dmp file. Is there anything else I can do?

@user2745 I suspect there’s something wrong in the window layout you are trying to recover. If you modify your current Window layout, save it as a new one, an restore it, does Rhino crash?

Hi Francesc Salla,
I made a new one and it crashes as well. An older one works fine, as you can see in the video. Maybe it’s not just a VisualARQ problem? I only noticed this after losing my VisualARQ panel after the update. It would be nice if the panels stayed after updating! THX

@wim Rhino crashes when using ‘Saved Window Layout.’ It may not be a problem caused solely by VisualARQ? I found out that the native window layouts work fine, but the new ones do not.

Hi Sven -

I can restore the layouts that you posted without problems.
When you disable all plug-ins that show up in the plug-in manager when you filter for “Plug-ins that do not ship with Rhino” and restart Rhino, does that crash still happen?

Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste its output here.
-wim

Hi @user2745 I have VisualARQ and Lands Design loaded, and I could not reproduce this crash, after using your Window Layout… I’m not sure how to help you on this. Perhaps there’s another third party plug-in interfering here…
