Lets try again without 3rd party plugins

You can do go to File>Properties>Plugins and sort by 3rd party plugins, then disable. Restart Rhino.

or you can start Rhino in Safe Mode (via Windows Start)

thanks - turned those plug ins off and so far no crashes. then i turned them back on because i need visualArq and Tibidabo - no crashes yet, though the problem has been sporadic. Hitting the + button on the view/layout tabs has been working fine the past few weeks, the crashes only come when i type ‘layout’

hopefully no more crashes

@daveed-kapoor do you get a crash dialog when Rhino crashes? If so, please send those in, as they’re very helpful in tracking down and solving crash bugs, thanks!

there is no crash dialog - the screen turns ‘translucent’ and the top bar says ‘not responding’ and the system wheel continually spins. It will stay hang up in this state indefinitely until you ctrl+alt+delete task manager end task

what will help in that case is to make a memory dump of the Rhino process. This is little bit more complicated though. It will generate a large file that you’ll need to zip and send us via file upload.
The process is explained here: Manually Creating a Memory Dump (DMP File) from an Unresponsive Rhino for Windows [McNeel Wiki].
