Rhino Closing While Trying To Open Files

So I am having trouble with Rhino closing 1 to 3 times when I am trying to load or switch files. I thought that the problem had something to do with the Plugin that I recently installed.

But after figuring out how to remove it, it continued having the same problem.
The only thing that I can think of at the moment that I changed other than adding that plugin was that I recently upgraded to Windows11. Could that Have something to do with it?
Here’s a few screenshots.

Opening File

Working on loading The file

Rhino closed
Trying Again on the same file

Loading

Successfully loads

Something to note also is that when I try to open a file from this stage to, I have the same problem.
I am using Rhino7 Educational with Windows11
I do have enough processing power as far as I know.
Does anyone know what is going on here?

Hi Ryan -

That could certainly have something to do with things, yes.
In the Windows Control Panel, please find Rhino 7 and pick the Repair option. Does that help anything?
-wim

Can you post your SystemInfo? This is similar to the recent AMD driver issues (turn off GPU Tessellation)

Not sure quite what you are referring to but here are some screenshots I took that might answer your question.
Something to note. CPU is unchecked on the other page in the below screenshot.

When I started Rhino Normally, opening a file from the Recent files list that comes up during the startup.
Running the TaskManager next to it.

It closed right after I took this screenshot.

My bad, please type SystemInfo into the Rhino command line and post the results here.

Okay, here it is

Hi Ryan -
When you launch Rhino without opening a specific file, does it then always start successfully?
-wim

Yes it does as far as I know.

Thanks, that means it’s file-specific.
When you launch Rhino, create a simple box in a factory-default template and save that file to your desktop, does Rhino have problems opening that file again later?
-wim

That worked well!

Thanks.
What happens when you disable the Lumion plug-in, restart Rhino, and then try to open one of your other models?

It still closed. First thing on the command line was Blocking Lumion Plugin. Not quite the exact words.
Here is another screenshot before it closed.

Ryan, Can you ensure that your using the Nvidia card per these instructions? Thanks.

Looks like it

Hi Ryan -
Can you post or upload (Rhino - Upload to Support) a file that makes Rhino close?
-wim

Here is a file. I wasn’t sure where to find your email so I’ll just post it here.
It didn’t seem to matter what file I opened.

I have since a few months the same “problem” but not always and only the first time I start Rhino. I am using V6

Mine seems quite random, like not just at startup. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Even between switching files it will do it. So confusing  :man_shrugging:

Is that what you were looking for?
