Hi all, I have had the same or similar issues using a patent drawing display mode. In my case, I was not able to replicate the same print appearance in my perspective viewport while printing using a layout with a perspective detail view. The layout version had an effect like a hedgehog with tiny lines sticking out from outlines. But after reading I opened my file in Rhino 7 and it worked much better.
Printing images in Rhino 8 has some issues: first I ran into a Dot issue and now if a layer with polylines/curves on it is set to Default under Print Width in the layers panel it won’t change the print width for lines even if I change the setting under “Default line width” in the Print dialog to e.g. 1 mm. They are still rendered as hairline - it looks like the layer setting is overprinting what is set in the print dialog? This is with 8.3.24.
Please try the latest 8.5 release candidate. There have been several print related fixes between 8.3 and the latest 8.5. Here are instructions on how to get 8.5
Using the service release candidate option for Windows I was only able to obtain 8.4.24044, which still has the same issue.
@jouni.valli did you follow the instructions in the link I posted above to get the “release candidate”? 8.5 is the current release candidate and is what you should be able to install. If that isn’t working for you, let me know and I’ll try to send you a direct link to download and install the 8.5 release candidate
Hey Steve, that I did. 8.5 would not pop up for download even when checking manually. It did, however, become available yesterday. Testing the line width option confirmed it is fixed in 8.5.24058, thank you. Now if we could just get the printing DOT scaling option back that I mentioned in a different thread, I think the printing dialog would be fully fixed.
