Hi there,
I am encountering a strange issue on starting up Rhino 8, that I’ve never seen before. When opening the programme, it opens the main window whilst loading, but then in the middle of loading GH, Rhino just crashes and disappears. I cannot even get into the programme to run some sort of test or send a bug report.
My Rhino 6 and 7 are running fine though, and I have uninstalled and done a fresh installation of 8, but still same issue… anyone else had this recently?
Please tell stupid what she’s doing wrong
Hi Eva, There is most likely a plugin being loaded that is not compatible with Rhino 8.
You can start Grasshopper from the Rhino command line with the GrasshopperLoadOneByOne command and say no to your 3rd party plugins to troubleshoot.
Rhino plugins can be disabled in the File>Properties>Plugins
Hi Japhy,
thanks for the input, I did come to the conclusion that it’s probably something in GH. The problem is I cannot get into Rhino 8 to change any settings, because it closes before it finishes loading and opening. And by default on the new Rhino 8 GH is part of the start up.
what I will try though is removing all the GH plugins. My Rhino 8 has been running without problems for many months already, recently I brought my machine in to have it looked at due to problems with a new graphics card, and since I have received my machine back, I have this issue… I kno wthey ran BIOS checks and made some modifications to the BIOS, but I wouldn’t think that that could cause Rhino 8 to have a problem ¤scratches head¤
and there you go_ I just removed the Firefly plugin files from the GH library, and now Rh8 starts no problemo
