Hi,
The two latest versions of Rhino 7 failed to start.
It’s telling me rhino is importing rhino 6 plugins for more than a half an hour with
rhino.exe running at 100% of one core.
Is there a safe mode to start rhino or a way to disable some/all of the plugins ?
Don’t want to mess with my version 6.
If you don’t have a “Rhino 7 in Safe mode”, it’s trivial to make one.
Copy your V7 start up icon and edit it to add the “/safemode” command line option:
I remember now this safemode shortcut…
I only need the windows menu when I update Rhino cause it removes my pinned Rhino icon on
my task bar each time.
I have Rhino 7 started in safemode…
Is there a way to tell him to start normally without importing Rhino 6 plugins from there ?
Cause I don’t see any of my Rhino 6 plugins in plugins manager.
Sadly, it seems safemode cannot help me much.
My point is that I can not do the migration.
It hangs as shown in my picture.
I guess I could have removed all my v6 plugins but I dont want to do that.
I wrote several times to describe how I struggles to keep rhino workspace stable.
I just want to test v7. The fact that I can’t prove me once again that I’ll wait several month to let the newer version matures. (learned it painfully with v6)
By the way, this is just since the BETA that doesn’t want to update. I had no problem installing with WIP.
Try disabling the “Trace” plug-in in Rhino 6 and then start Rhino 7. It looks like that is the plug-in that is causing issues based on your screenshot.
This is not meant to be a long term solution. Once we determine which plug-in is causing the problem we can figure out how to fix this in V7
Thank you.
It worked.
The weird thing is that I re-enabled it in v6, restart v7, v7 was able to start with the Trace plugin.
I appreciate the effort to create a fluid transition between versions.
An option to use or not the migration tool (at any moment) could be useful.
