Rhino 6 viewport slow performance

Hi everyone,

I am using Rhino 6 SR6 (6.6.18 education version) for windows 10. It is a 64 bit version.

Every time when I try to rotate or move around the viewport in perspective view, its lag. Even when it’s empty with no object, and I try to draw a line, it’s not smooth when I move around.

I am using a laptop with
NVIDIA GTX 1070 Max Q
Cpu i7-8750H with 32 GB ram
So it should be fast and smooth. But now even my Macbook pro is smoother.

Please help me to solve this problem! Thank you!

Hello - can you please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and copy/paste the results here?

thanks,

-Pascal

Hi!

Thank you for your reply. I just tested and realize it got smooth when I am charging!
But once I remove the plug it began slow again, is there a way to set the computer to always use high performance? Thank you!

Hello - if your system has a dual card, set the NVidia control panel to use ‘Maximum performance’

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3130/~/setting-power-management-mode-from-adaptive-to-maximum-performance

Does that do it?

-Pascal

Hi Pascal,

The settings of NVIDIA control panel was already maximum performance, but when I unplug the charger, it is still having a very slow performance.
