I’m in a pickle here. After the recent windows update, I can’t open up my Rhino 6, but I can open up the safe mode. So I assumed it was my video driver out of date. So I make sure I have it up to date, but I still can’t open up Rhino in regular mode. I have an AMD graphic card. Thank you for any response in advance!

I have some updated information regarding to this topic, I went into my AMD Software update and there is an option to select Recommended + Optional update. It will provide the most recent upgrade. However, I still ran into the issue of not able to opening my Rhino 6 at the regular mode. It is not until I unplug my second screen to my laptop. Is this a bug in the Rhino starting software or a bug in AMD software? I’m not sure I found a different problem or is it related to the problem I originally had. Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bo

I just installed and ran my Rhino 6. Unfortunately the answer is no. As long as my second screen is plugged into my laptop. My Rhino 6 won’t start in the regular mode.
Yes It is. Both screens resolution are 1920x1080.
For this conversation, I even tried to change it to a different resolution, plugged screen in 1024x768 and laptop 1920x1080. The end result is still the same. As long as the second screen is plugged, It won’t run Rhino 6 normally.
This looks like the Windows Update messed up the GPU driver installation. Typically, re-installation or installing newer drivers doesn’t fix this and you need to perform a “clean installation” of the drivers.
For doing that, you can follow the recipe that was posted here:
Make sure to include step 4 of the uninstalling process!

Thank you so much for your help! I found the solution to this problem. It is related to to the Audio device on my second monitor. At first, I can’t find the service that controlling the monitor audio, but luckily I found an alternate method. I went to sounds -> playback -> disable selected plugged audio device. This result the Rhino 6 starting problem I had.
