Revit to Rhino

Does Rhino import Revit files or should they be exported in another format. thanks.

Rhino Inside is my preferred method for going to and from Revit.

Revit can export the 3d model in .dwg format.
When exporting from Revit you have an option to export object as meshes or solids, it is set standard as mesh so if you want solids, you have to click the solid option.

Thanks for the info.

There is a plug-in that can do that: https://www.datakit.com/cad-convertors/revit-to-rhino/2195-revit-3d-to-rhino.html

Hey, that was a big help and it worked but do you know how to import it in the same scale too?

I’ve downloaded this plugin. It doesn’t work with 2024.2, says it needs Revit update, but updating to Revit 2026, nothing happens when Revit starts (no plugin-notice, etc) and nothing in the Add-ins ribbon button. How does it work?

Hi Joshua,

Rhino.Inside - Revit requires Revit 2024.3

In Revit 2026 you’ll need to be on the Release Candidate to install (and Rhino 8). I’ll send you the RC privately.

Hi is there a way to get the Revit 2026 version of “Rhino.Inside.Revit” - it has been extremely helpful… while i was using Revit 2025. Thanks, great work!.

You can download the Release Candidate or Daily build in the Rhino.inside.Revit options, those builds are compatible with Revit 2026.
