Revit importing into rhino

whats the best way to import a revit file?

Hi -
Do you have Revit on your machine?
If so, you can use Rhino.Inside.Revit. If not, you’ll have to get that file converted somehow.
-wim

i dont have revit , the model was emailed to me , can the original builder of the model install rhino.inside.revit as a stand alone or does he need rhino ?
and will he be able to save as a 3dm?

I hate to recommend any of the old methodologies since Rhino.Inside.Revit works so well. Traditionally its a 3D .dwg export from Revit into Rhino process that is used.

Depending on your project timeline and workflow you have a couple options besides the .dwg export.

Rhino 7 Evaluation is 90 days and is fully functional. Rhino.Inside®.Revit

Revit has a free trial of 30 days.

What version of Rhino are you in and what version of Revit is the file? Thanks.
