Related Software Question - Maxwell is missing!

Hi!

I just installed the update of “Rhino for Mac” and had to fill out a form.
In the section where they ask which related software you use, I noticed that “Maxwell” is missing. As this is the only one I use I just want to let you know that it is missing!
And as I really would love to see the Maxwell plug-in integrated into “Rhino for Mac” as soon as possible, I think it is very important to add it  .

Regards
Chris

That’s not entirely up to McNeel, it’s mostly up to NextLimit. However, McNeel does have to provide them with an SDK - which is not yet ready for MacRhino.

Thanks for pointing this out. It’s definitely an oversight. @brian, we should add Maxwell to the Related Software list in the License Validation Wizard.

So would we  And @Helvetosaur is right, we need to provide a robust SDK (which is not yet ready). That is a major priority for us. Please let the Maxwell people know you’d like to see a Rhino for Mac plugin (posting on their forum would likely be the best place) so they know.

You likely already know this, but Maxwell Studio (for Mac) does support importing Rhino geometry today. I know this isn’t the most elegant workflow, but it is a place to start…my guess is you are much more interested in tighter integration between the products.

Thank you for the quick answer. I already forwarded it to Maxwell and got a response.

"Hello Christoph,

In the quoted post, Mitch specifically indicates that the SDK “is not” ready, which is coinciding with our latest conversations with McNeel.

Anyway, from our experience, when it finally get ready and published, it will take a good deal of time (on the order of 6-12 months, we’d guess) for the plugin to be written, tested and functional, during which time it will be necessary to export OBJs and use Studio (like you can in fact do right now to render your Rhino models with Maxwell).

Best regards
