I just imported a step file into the WIP. The perspective and right view windows are working but the top and front views are a blank red screen. I think it may have something to do with the GPU but not sure.
i’ve got the same issue here as well. i thought they fixed it though.
If you (both) could please post the output of the Rhino command _SystemInfo.
Also, please attach the STEP file you are importing.

FWIW- if you send it via this link: https://www.rhino3d.com/upload it stays on mcneels private server, we use the file for diagnostics and then delete it. no worries about releasing it publicly we don’t do that…ever.
files like that are pretty crucial to help fix the red screen problem you are experiencing as they tend to be file specific and can be hard to replicate.

I’m seeing the same issue here - red screen when switching views. Don’t need any special file to reproduce - start a new file, insert a cube, and switch between views. It will correct itself if you switch between different views - I can’t seem to discern any rhyme or reason to when it occurs or corrects itself.

I am not certain, that this is Rhino specific.
ARCHICAD does the same when opening an OpenGL 3D viewport, almost always. I’m not sure, but I’m having this issue since 10.13.6 (or 13.5). My GPU is the AMD R9 M370X.
I’m having a hard time figuring out what “switching views” or “changing the view” means.
Here are my different guesses:
- Clicking in an inactive viewport to make it the active viewport.
- Selecting Set View > Bottom in the viewport context menu to change the viewport view.
- Selecting a different display mode, like Shaded or Ghosted.
- Or even, rotating a perspective view to change its orientation.
The red viewport could be an issue only with recent AMD Radeon GPUs. So far, all the computers with this problem have an AMD Radeon R9 GPU. Nathan cannot duplicate this with an Intel Iris Graphics 650, and I cannot duplicate this with an AMD Radeon Pro 460.
