So i was given a new macbook pro 2015 modelby my insurance company after an unfortunate accident with my old one, in which i ran Rhino 5 on windows 7 with bootcamp with zero problems
First thing i noticed was the horrible anti-aliasing of the grid even with it set a 8x, it got so bad i was getting a headache while working on grasshopper. Multiple blurry pixelated lines and my already failing eyesight was just a tragic combination. I also noticed every single button icon and menu name was also pixelated. Then when i tried to load something internally (open a new file from rhino) this mess happened.
does this happen with any body else or is it just me.
I also tried to install tsplines and it just wouldn’t load as a plugin within rhino. anyone else having these problems or did i do something horribly wrong?
Hi
It looks like your new MBP is a Retina model so the toolbars and interface are too small.
As a test, try running the 32-bit version of Rhino.
If the larger U/I looks better, then use this tool from the FAQ page to make 64-bit Rhino look like 32-bit:

The poor antialiasing is because your new MBP probably has an AMD Radeon graphics adapter. AMD has decided to have very poor OpenGL support for Radeon chips under Windows.
Under OSX, Apple writes the drivers and they work well, but under Windows, they are really bad.
Thanks for replying John. I noticed everything looks perfect when i’m running the display at 100% even though the interface is too small, the lines are crisp, and i have no antialiasing issues. my MBP is running an Intel iris graphics card by the way. but i’m guessing the issues are probably the same. On paper this replacement seemed better, but i can’t even use it properly for the one thing i need it for most. Looking forward to the day i can go back to PC
Actually, the Intel chip isn’t bad. It’s not accelerated under Windows but Apple isn’t using any chips that are accelerated under Windows now. The Intel is not nearly as bad as the AMD Radeon.
How does 32-bit Rhino V5 look on your MBP in Windows?
I’ve updated the drivers for the graphics card and it looks a lot better now the 32 bit version looks damn near perfect, thanks for all your help John.
I can’t tell from your reply but if you do the high resolution registry change and copy the manifest file as the previously linked FAQ page details, then 64-bit V5 will look the same as 32-bit V5.
