I have been playing with artistic mode. Now I cannot restore the default view. The background and image file name in options cannot be selected and
are grayed out. Quit rhino and restart did not help. Any ideas? Thanks, Gerard.
Hi Gerard - does Restore Defaults sort things out? You do not get to change the image in the built in Artistic mode, but you can duplicate the mode (Under the Display Modes page one level up) and then you get to play more.

You can also change the visible background via the Display panel without duplicating the mode if that helps.
Thanks Pascal, Brian! All clear, I was looking in the wrong direction, it was just the checkmark at shadows. And I now understand the logic of it.
