Print Scale Message - Possible Bug?

Possibly related?: V8, in model space I use rectangles drawn to the correct “A” paper size dimensions, set to “No print”, to frame the views I need. Yet if I set the print scale to 1:1 and then snap to these rectangles to define the print area, I get a prompt asking me if I want to rescale the view. Is this a bug?

@MattE,
Is this what you are seeing?

If I pick “Scale to fit” there is no prompt to scale, as expected.
But when printing 1:1 and using an exact sheet size with 0 margins in the Top, Bottom, Left, Right

There is the prompt to scale when 1:1 is selected:

I think that 1:1 and Fit in the case of the 8.5x11 rectangle should be the same and not generate the scale prompt.
If this is the issue that you are referring to, I have a model here
Print Rectangle 1=1.3dm (56.5 KB)
and can write it up.

Thanks,
Mary Fugier

The same procedure produced the error in Rhino 7, 8, and Rhino WIP.
So this is not a Rhino 8 only issue.

I have logged this as a bug:
RH-92096/Print-Scale-Message-Seems-Incorrect

We will let you know here where there is a fix that is available for you to test.

Sincerely,
Mary Ann Fugier

Hi Mary,

Yes - that is what I’m seeing. I had wondered if the ISO paper sizes had been interpreted in the Rhino settings in imperial units, leading to a mismatch. But your demonstration is using Letter size and the same thing seems to happen.

FWIW, this doesn’t happen in V5.

So I think it’s a bug….
