Pen view how to hide interior lines as hidden lines doesnt hide non unioned edges

Hi,
V5.

Pen mode is good as its a simple b/w drawing but its showing the interior of an object where I want the outlines only. One object sits partly inside another, I dont want to union them as if I ever need to alter the one and remove it from the other I cannot. (Unless there is an unUnion command weeks later or so). I have grouped them BUT the internal part of the one object is visible in my cross section I have sliced myself through it.
Hide Internal , one of the options in pen, doesnt stop Pen from showing such.

If I use shaded view it vanishes but a page of colour is a lot of printing ink at A3.

jpg is a portion of the image I am working on.

I can’t tell from that picture what’s going on. Are you saying that what looks like 2 objects are, in your model, several objects? With 2 objects, that seems to work fine in Rhino 5 in the Technical display mode. We’ll probably need a file…

Thanks for that file.

But it only vanishes when you modify the default Shaded mode to not show object edges.

All display modes look at the edges of individual surfaces only and do not make assumptions about collections of objects. The regular display modes allow you to completely turn off those edges. The Technical display modes were created to only display those edges.

In this case, I’m afraid the only option is to union objects that, in reality, are single objects.
