Sorry, we only have the checkbox for that feature in place. This is what Gijs is describing, but the actual implementation of flyouts as menus has not been completed yet. This is why that YT issue is in an “awaiting dependency” state.

It looks like we just released another 8.3 release candidate today. This 8.3 has flyout as menus working in it. You need to enable this feature in the appearance settings as shown here (it is the cascade as menu checkbox)

Is dragging a cascade menu into a toolbar not possible anymore
