Object crashing Rhino when unhidden

I’ve been modeling this object and storing backups in different layers in case I need to change anything. However, now when I try to unhide my layer ‘Storage 4’ Rhino minimizes and won’t respond and has to eventually be forced closed. This doesn’t happen when I use wireframe mode, but if I unhide ‘Storage 4’ in wireframe mode and then load shaded view Rhino freezes.

I’m confused because I modeled all these parts before and didn’t have any issue with crashing. Any help? I’ll upload the file and link to this discussion.

Here is my system info:

It locks up a bit (minute or so) for me but not crashing.

There is a couple ‘Bad Objects’ (selBadObjects) but not in the Storage 4 layer.

I’ll keep poking and see if we can narrow it down.

Moving the object in Storage 4 locks it up as well.

Not seeing a crash report, or did you force quit?

Yes, sorry I should clarify. I have to force quit, it hasn’t technically crashed but the window will not respond.

Moving to a new layer seems to help a bit. Although still a bit slow on a fresh open (which indicates Render Mesh computation time) The render mesh of that object is 83342, so not particularity massive.

Moving which objects to a new layer?

The one in Storage 4

Thanks for all the help. I saw this post Shaded mode with Rendering Material freezes - Rhino / Rhino for Windows - McNeel Forum and tried deleting the textures I had previously applied to it, and viola it loaded the shaded mode instantly.
