Hi experts. I’m a architecture student using Rhino 5 and grasshopper. No much knowledge in hardware stuff.
My question if anyone can clarify:
- I have 2 graphic cards installed in my Dell precision 7500.
A) Nvidia quadro 4000
B) Nvidia gtx 760
The latter was bought recently 'cause I was given a 30" monitor and thought I need a separate one to drive the huge screen. Which one of these is being use by Rhino for modeling? And for rendering? Can I assign Rhino to use the Quadro card exclusively?
My apologies if this question sounds obvious or silly for this forum. Totally a noob in this kinda thing.
You can see which video card you use in the options > View > OpenGL if I’m right. :
Thank you so much for that. In my PC , Rhino is registering the the Quadro instead of the GTX. I was wondering why Rhino pick the Quadro over the GTX.
Well Rhino uses the video card that Nvidia assigns too it.
Look at this website:
here you can change your videocard. Example is a video game but the idea would be the same.
That make sense. I will play around with the setting at Nvidia control panel. Even tho’ gtx is faster I found Rhino on quadro is smooth as silk, I’m happy with that.
Thank you so much for the clarification.
