I understand I can edit nested blocks. But to have to find the damn block in the list amongst all of the others is really quite impossible. this happens when a model has 100s or 1000s of blocks. Sketchups feature of double clicking into nested is great. I have tried the third party new block edit with crashing and failure.
Any possibility this feature could happen over a rhino 8 update?
At the very least when I click the block it should highlight it in the list of all the nested blocks…
Use the BlockEditNew Plugin, you can enter nested blocks by double clicking on the block so there is no need to navigate via names. Its pretty much the sketchup block editor but in rhino.
EDIT: Just saw its crashing for you. Maybe you can get in touch with the plugin developer and diagnose the problem? I myself run it with several other plugins and it hasn’t caused issues for me yet.
I found it was extremely quick to sift through all of the nested blocks. but once I went to confirm the changes to the parent block it would take minutes to reload or crash.
It just feels like a function that shouldnt have to be developed by a third party
Thanks to the developer that this plugin also works now on Mac OS and Rhino 8. The default block editing was almost useless with nested blocks (which makes blocks so great to use). Thank you !
